REDWOOD FALLS — The Worthington boys’ tennis team comfortably defeated the Redwood Valley Cardinals 6-1 Friday.

Carter Lindner of Worthington defeated Tyler Hagen in first singles 6-1, 6-2. Teammate Andrew Johnson took his match 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.

Max Russell got one back for the Cards as he beat Levi Blanchard 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

The Trojans’ Sebastian Licea came out on top in a close match with Redwood Valley’s Cole Pettis, defeating him 7-5, 6-4.

On the doubles side, the Trojans won all three matches. The Doeden duo, Ben and Bryan, took care of Nate Benson and Sam Christeson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. At second doubles, Worthington’s Nick Newman and Jonah McDonald defeated Logan Dehnke and Nathan Passe 6-1, 6-3. Finally at third doubles, DJ Berger and Orissa Nitibhon were victorious over Michael Davila and Aaron Boyle by a score of 6-3, 6-1.
