Prep volleyball: Sheldon volleyball sweeps E-LC out of first round volleyball action
SHELDON, Iowa — Class 3A’s second-ranked Sheldon volleyball team eliminated Estherville-Lincoln Central from postseason play Monday.
Set scores went in favor of the Orabs 25-13, 25-7, 25-12. The win pushes the team’s season record to 32-4.
Sheldon gained large leads early on in each set and easily took care of the win.
Senior outside hitter Jessica Van Beek contributed 14 kills for the Orabs. Marti Vogel added 13. Sami Klienwolterink had 31 set assists.
Vogel finished 18-for-18 from the service line to earn four ace serves.
Emily Johnson led the team defensively with 29 digs. Vogel had 15. Klienwolterink had two solo blocks.
Sheldon plays its second round match Thursday night at home against Unity Christian.
Unity was a winner in straight sets over Spirit Lake Monday. Set scores were 25-15, 25-22, 25-15.
