Prep wrestling: Windom/Mountain Lake wins two of three


OLIVIA — The Windom/Mountain Lake wrestling team took two of three matches Thursday, beating Ortonville 72-12, losing to Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle Valley/Montevideo 36-28 and topping BOLD 40-30.

Joe Fischenich wrestled and won three times for the Cobras. At 132 pounds he pinned Ortonville’s Elijah Cloos in 1:30. At 126 he scored a 9-1 major decision over DB/LQPV-Montevideo’s Jordan Bothun. And again at 132 he major decisioned BOLD’s Benny Garcia 9-0.

Alex Borsgard started the Cobras right at 106 pounds with a fall and 9-2 decision over his first two opponents. He won a third match by forfeit.

Other Windom/Mountain Lake falls turned in against Ortonville were by Hayden Fast, Wyatt Stevens, Luis Ramirez, Ben Matter, Andrew Moller, Andrew Larson and Vince Johnson.

Johnson won via fall in the team’s second match.

Against BOLD, Jared Willaby and Austin Ewing racked up pins for the Cobras.
