The highlight of the event is a scheduled presentation by Barbara Tornow, a resident of Madison, S.D., who will speak on “Surrendering the Secret.”

“She has a ministry of working with women who have had abortions and how they’ve carried this secret in their lives,” explained Cal Farmer, a Southwest Minnesota ProLife member.

This type of secret is often carried around for many years, and at some point women who have had abortions just have to open up and tell someone. She (Tornow) is someone who had an abortion herself, and had to reveal this secret to be free from its burden.”

Tornow’s “Surrendering the Secret” ministry offers a unique means of healing for women who have had abortions, Farmer added.

“I think very few people are talking about this topic,” he said. “I’ve heard her speak before. She’s a wonderful person, and she’s very cheerful.”

Free-will donations can be made at the event, which represents the annual fundraiser for Southwest Minnesota ProLife.

For more information on “Surrendering the Secret,” contact Tornow at (605) 270-0474 or tornowbarbara@gmail.com; or Patty Bordeau Nelson at (605) 270-3471 or patty3471@hotmail.com.
