Knights of Columbus serve pork chops on Saturday
WORTHINGTON -- St. Mary's Church Knights of Columbus will have a pork chop feed from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Elks Lodge, 1105 Second Ave.,
The meal will feature Iowa-cut pork chop, baked potato, corn, applesauce and roll.
Proceeds will go toward St. Mary's KC endeavors, including parish, school and Faith Formation projects and community concerns.
Crossroad president visits Worthington Christian
WORTHINGTON -- Mike Kilgallin, president of Crossroads College, will speak during the 10:15 a.m. worship service Sunday at Worthington Christian Church, 1501 N. Douglas Ave.
The annual Thanksgiving dinner will follow the service.
Lismore congregation hosts soup dinner
LISMORE -- The annual soup and dessert dinner will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Lismore. Three kinds of soup and homemade desserts will be served.
A country store and auction will follow. Auction items include a 25-inch HD plasma TV, John Deere and Case IH toys and Mauer and Morneau signed baseballs.
Brown Family performs at Sibley Christian Reformed
SIBLEY, Iowa -- The Brown Family from LeMars, Iowa, will perform Sunday evening at the Sibley Christian Reformed Church, 115 Maple Drive.
The concert will begin at 5 p.m.
Young adults gather at BenLee's Café
WORTHINGTON -- A live worship for young adults in the community will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at BenLee's Café, 212 10th St., Worthington.
The gathering is for adults ages 18 to 35, who come together to pray, praise and connect with others.
Child care will be available.

Region's Lutherans gather for worship in Slayton
SLAYTON -- Members of area Lutheran churches will gather for a combined worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, Minnesota.
The service will bring together the 31 congregations of the Shetek Conference in the Southwestern Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
Theme of the service will be "Saints Alive!"
Participants in the worship service will be all ELCA pastors in the Shetek Conference, including seven pastors who are serving in their first church, a significantly higher number than other areas of the Southwestern Minnesota Synod.
These first-call pastors are Rachel Wrenn of Prairie Star Ministries; Andrew Schensted of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield; Bryon Simmons of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson; and Timothy Wrenn of American Lutheran Church in Windom and Bethany Lutheran Church in Bergen.
In honor of these young pastors, a free-will offering will be received for the Synod's Seminary Debt Reduction Fund. This fund supports clergy who work in smaller congregations, often at a lower rate of compensation than is available in a larger congregation.
Kent Mickelson of Lakefield will direct a mass choir anthem during the worship service. Refreshments will follow in the church fellowship hall .
Harvest Dinner set for Sunday in Jackson
JACKSON -- Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson will have its Harvest Dinner from 11:15 to 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
The meal will include turkey, dressing, potatoes, gravy, corn, cranberries, dinner rolls, pie, ice cream, coffee and milk.
A free-will offering will be taken with suggested donation amounts.
Turkey on menu at St. Peter Lutheran
LAKEFIELD -- St. Peter Lutheran Church will have its annual turkey supper from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The menu will feature carved turkey and all the trimmings and homemade pies.
The church is located 6 miles north of Lakefield on Minnesota 86.
Mark calendar for Nativity Experience
WORTHINGTON -- A Nativity Experience will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 16 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 230 Clary St.
The event will feature displays of more than 200 Nativity sets, with coffee, hot cider and Christmas goodies served.
