Worthington Christian plans Trunk-or-Treat event
WORTHINGTON — Worthington Christian Church, 1501 N. Douglas Ave., will host a Trunk-or-Treat event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday in the church parking lot.
Decorated cars will be filled with candy and treats.
Harvest Party set for Friday at MAX 493
WORTHINGTON — A Harvest Party is planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at MAX 493, 1303 Oxford St.
There will be games, activities and treats.
Fish Boil raises funds for Orphan Grain Train
LAKEFIELD — A Fish Boil will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Activity Center, Fifth and Bush streets, Lakefield.
A Fish Boil consists of flaky white fish drizzled with melted butter. The fish will be accompanied by potatoes, cole slaw, homemade bread, assorted desserts and beverages.
A free-will offering will be taken. Proceeds will go to the Orphan Grain Train, a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. It is a Christian volunteer network that shares personal and material resources with needy people in America and around the world.
Hallelujah Hooligans to perform in Sibley
SIBLEY, Iowa — A concert by the Hallelujah Hooligans will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Christian Reformed Church, 115 Maple Drive.
The Hallelujah Hooligans is a praise band based in Baltic, S.D., and made up of musicians from churches in that area.
Lakefield CCW schedules soup supper Sunday
LAKEFIELD — The Lakefield Council of Catholic Women will have a Chili and Soup Supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 Broadway Ave.
The menu will include chili, chicken noodle and broccoli soups, ham sandwiches, desserts and beverage.
‘Mom’s Night Out’ showing at American Reformed
WORTHINGTON — “Mom’s Night Out” will be shown at 6 p.m. Sunday at the American Reformed Church, 1720 N. Burlington Ave.
The movie is a true-to-life family comedy with a Christian message.

Trinity Sunday School to present musical Nov. 9
SIBLEY, Iowa — The Trinity Lutheran Sunday School will present a musical, “100 Percent Chance of Rain,” based on the story of Noah and the flood, during the 10 a.m. worship service and again at 2 p.m. on Nov. 9.
Also on Nov. 9, the church will have its Harvest Festival Meal from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The meal will feature roast pork, potatoes, squash, applesauce and dessert, served for a free-will offering.
CD preview concert is Nov. 9 at Luverne church
LUVERNE — Music ensembles from Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne are professionally producing a music CD, “Gifts of Grace.”
A concert to preview the CD will be 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the church. A free-will offering will be taken during the concert
Refreshments will be served after the concert, and orders for the CD will be taken. The CDs will be ready in early December.
Soup supper coming up at Zion Presbyterian
ELLSWORTH — A Soup and Pie Supper will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Zion Presbyterian Church, 420 Main St.
Chili, vegetable beef and wild rice chicken soups, barbecues, ham sandwiches, assorted pies and desserts will be served for a free-will offering. There will also be a raffle drawing.
