Gengler to be ordained Sunday in Lismore

LISMORE — Sarah Gengler will be ordained as a pastor by the Presbytery of Minnesota Valleys at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, LIsmore. A reception will follow at the Lismore American Legion.


Gengler is the daughter of Brian and Joyce Gengler, Adrian. She will serve as head pastor at the Federated Church of Brookston, Ind.

Pastor Uppin to address local congregations

WORTHINGTON — Pastor Ruben Uppin from Hubli, India, will share his testimony of being raised from the dead and his ongoing work in reaching the lost in the states of Karnatak and Andhra Pradesh, India, at 6 p.m. Saturday at Inglesia De Dios De La Profesia, 1225 Fifth Ave., with Pastor Javier Romero; and at 10 a.m. Sunday at Communidad Christiana de Worthington, 350 W. Oxford St., with Pastor Samuel Ruiz.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, Uppin will speak at Bethel Reformed Church, 611 Seventh St., Sheldon, Iowa.

Harvest Dinner Sunday at St. Matthew Lutheran

WORTHINGTON — St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1505 Dover St., will have its Harvest Dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

The menu will feature pork loin, dressing and gravy, potatoes, green beans, pies and desserts. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Worthington Christian plans Trunk-or-Treat event

WORTHINGTON — Worthington Christian Church, 1501 N. Douglas Ave., will host a Trunk-or-Treat event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 in the church parking lot.

Decorated cars will be filled with candy and treats.

Fish Boil raises funds for Orphan Grain Train

LAKEFIELD — A Fish Boil will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Activity Center, Fifth and Bush streets, Lakefield.

A Fish Boil consists of flaky white fish drizzled with melted butter. The fish will be accompanied by potatoes, cole slaw, homemade bread, assorted desserts and beverages.

A free-will offering will be taken. Proceeds will go to the Orphan Grain Train, a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. It is a Christian volunteer network that shares personal and material resources with needy people in American and around the world.

Lakefield CCW schedules soup supper for Nov. 2

LAKEFIELD — The Lakefield Council of Catholic Women will have a Chili and Soup Supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 Broadway Ave.

The menu will include chili, chicken noodle and broccoli soups, ham sandwiches, desserts and beverage.

‘Mom’s Night Out’ showing at American Reformed

WORTHINGTON — “Mom’s Night Out” will be shown at 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at the American Reformed Church, 1720 N. Burlington Ave.

The movie is a true-to-life family comedy with a Christian message.

Tickets available for Wycliffe fall banquet

WORTHINGTON — The Wycliffe Associates Fall Banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the American Reformed Church, 1720 N. Burlington Ave., Worthington.

The latest news and technology in Bible translation will be presented.

CD preview concert is Nov. 9 at Luverne church

LUVERNE — Music ensembles from Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne are professionally producing a music CD, “Gifts of Grace.”

A concert to preview the CD will be 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the church. A free-will offering will be taken during teh concert

Refreshments will be served after the concert, and orders for the CD will be taken. The CDs will be ready in early December.
