Rose Kuhl, the daughter of Damian and Odelia (Stoderl) Miller, was born on July 11, 1916 on the farm near Iona, MN. She grew up near Iona and attended country school. Rose was united in marriage to Lester Kuhl on September 15, 1941 at St. Columba Church in Iona. After their marriage they settled near Wilmont, MN where Rose raised 11 children and shared in the daily obligations of running a family farm. In 1987, with their children grown, Les and Rose moved into Wilmont. Rose remained at their home after Lester passed away in July of 2001. She moved to Worthington in 2006 to live at Golden Horizons. Rose passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013 at South Shore Care Center in Worthington at the age of 97. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont where she belonged to the W.C.C.W. and Catholic Daughters. Rose was also a RSVP volunteer. She enjoyed communicating with her children and grandchildren, quilting, playing cards, especially solitaire and bingo. She wrote poems reflecting her life experiences which are inspiring and family keepsakes.
Rose leaves a tremendous legacy in her 11 children, Connie (Donald) Dolan of Hastings, MN, Patricia (Gerald) Honch of Rochester, NY, Daniel (Nancy) Kuhl of Lakeville, MN, Gary Kuhl (close friend Robert Wittstock) of San Francisco, CA, Stan (Louise) Kuhl of Worthington, MN, Robert (Mira) Kuhl of Napa, CA, Charlotte (Charles) Molosky of Green Brae, CA, Charlene Kuhl of Worthington, MN, Richard Kuhl of Wilmont, MN, Mary (Scott) Anderson of Hutchinson, MN and John (Judy) Kuhl of Fulda, MN; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Funeral services will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church Wilmont, MN at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 with Fr. Andrew Beerman celebrating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery Wilmont, MN.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont with a rosary at 4 and a 6:30 prayer service and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
