Sanford to offer American Cancer Society program

WORTHINGTON — The American Cancer Society will offer its “Look Good…Feel Better” program to residents in South West Minnesota and Northwest Iowa on July 29. The class runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sanford Cancer Center, 1018 Sixth Avenue, Worthington (on the campus of the hospital).

Guided by volunteer cosmetologists, female cancer patients who participate in this class will learn how to use make-up and skin care techniques to overcome the appearance-related effects of chemotherapy and radiation. To register and/or for additional information, please call 1-888-535-4227.

The program offers patients the opportunity to spend time in a relaxed, non-medical setting with others in the same situation. Free make-up and instruction from professionals is part of the class.

“Look Good…Feel Better” is offered through a partnership of the American Cancer Society; the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation; and the National Cosmetology Association. Classes and materials are provided free of charge to women in active cancer treatment.
