Scout for Food surpasses goal
WORTHINGTON — During last weekend’s Scouting for Food drive, local Boy Scout and Cub Scout members collected 1,630 pounds of food and two bags of eyeglasses in Worthington and Brewster.
“My goal was 1,000 pounds, so I was on Cloud 9 when I got the numbers back from the food pantries,” said Unit 134 leader Scott Hunt. “This beat all previous years, overwhelmed it. We really appreciate everybody who donated.”
The food items were taken to Worthington’s two food pantries.
