Sheldon robbery suspect in custody
SHELDON, Iowa — A Sheldon man is in the O’Brien County Jail as a result of a robbery investigation.
The robbery occurred during the evening hours of Oct. 11 in Sheldon’s Hills Park. The victim reported that a male subject pointed a gun at his head, displayed a knife and demanded he give him money. A total of $23 was taken.
During the evening hours of Oct. 12, officers from the Sheldon Police Department, the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Department and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 425 W. Seventh St., trailer No. 6, in Sheldon. Officers arrested Cody Lee Shriver, 18, at that residence. As a result of the search, officers were able to recover a pistol BB gun and drug paraphernalia. Shriver was charged with first-degree robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia and was transported to the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
First-degree robbery is a class B felony punishable by confinement for no more than 25 years.
Possession of drug paraphernalia is a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $625 and imprisonment not to exceed 30 days in lieu of a fine or in addition to a fine.
