MONTICELLO — The 18U Worthington Area Storm fastpitch softball team took second place at the Minnesota 18-under Girls Fastpitch Softball State Championships Saturday.

The Storm knocked off Red Lake Falls 12-4 and Morris 8-4 before taking their first loss 9-1 against Badger Greenbush Middle River.

Worthington then defeated Watertown 9-7 to advance to the championship game against BGMR.

BGMR took down the Storm 8-7 in extra innings to take first place in the tournament.
