SUMMARY - ORDINANCE NO. 1079
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE XV OF THE WORTHINGTON CITY CODE TO REGULATE DEVELOPMENT IN FLOOD HAZARD AREAS OF WORTHINGTON THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WORTHINGTON, DO ORDAIN that, on April 14, 2014, Ordinance No. 1079 amended Worthington City Code, Chapter XV, Section 152. Due to the lengthy nature of Ordinance No. 1079 the following summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication as authorized by state law:
The ordinance adopted by the Council regulates the type of development that may occur within the flood hazard areas within the City of Worthington. The ordinance complies with the rules and regulations of the National Flood Insurance Program. The ordinance also seeks to preserve the natural characteristic and functions of watercourses and flood plains in order to moderate flood and storm water impacts, improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, protect aquatic and riparian habitat, provide recreational opportunities, provide aesthetic benefits and enhance community and economic development.
The ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication. A printed copy of the entire ordinance is available for inspection by any person during the City’s regular office hours.
