Summer dance camp next week
MARSHALL -- Prairie Dance Alliance of Southwestern Minnesota will host its 21st annual summer dance camp Tuesday through June 1 at Southwest Minnesota State University.
The camp is open to dancers ages 7 and older and will introduce strong technical instruction in various dance styles including ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical and tap, along with opportunities for instruction in musical theater, jazz funk and more.
Instructors will be Diane Cheeseman, who currently resides in Los Angeles and teaches all levels of ballet and modern; former southwest Minnesotan Zac Hammer, who currently resides in New York and continues to dance, choreograph and teach across the country; and Jessica Fay, a performer, choreographer and educator with extensive training in ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre dance. She is currently teaching at Oklahoma City University.
A showcase performance will be 7 p.m. June 1 at SMSU Fine Arts Theater.
