Summer leadership tour offered
MARSHALL -- The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Committee is sponsoring a summer leadership event July 26, in Marshall. The event will begin with ag tours at noon, leadership training by American Farm Bureau Federation staff member Jill Casten at 5:30 p.m. and a networking grill out at 6:30 p.m.
Interested participants should meet at noon at Independence Park, at the intersection of Minnesota 23 and East Lyon Street, to board the bus. Free childcare is available during the day. The event is free thanks to the support of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association. Space is limited. RSVP to Katie Brenny, firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-768-2107, by July 19.
Tours will include Turkey Valley Farms and Schwan's Food Service, Inc. Turkey Valley Farms packages whole birds, bone-in breasts, tray packs, ground in meats and commodity meats in private or packer labels. Schwan's Food Service, Inc. markets and distributes many branded frozen-food products and meals to schools, hospitals, restaurants and convenience stores throughout the United States. Closed toed shoes and long pants are required for tours.
