Texas man arrested after Worthington car chase
WORTHINGTON — A Roanoke, Texas, man was arrested following a police chase Saturday morning.
At 11:10 a.m. Saturday, the Worthington Police Department responded to a call at the Super 8 Motel for a disorderly guest. It was reported that Warborg caused damage to the room he was staying in and threatened to run his truck into the lobby.
He then fled the scene and was found driving east on Oxford Street when police attempted to pull him over.
Warborg then accelerated and headed south on Humiston Avenue. Officers cornered him at the intersection of Oxford and Omaha streets, where police ordered him out of the vehicle. Warborg refused to get out and sped off again toward Humiston.
Warborg once again traveled east on Oxford Street and drove through the Burger King parking lot before going over the median at the intersection of Humiston and Oxford.
Worthington Police Department officers and Nobles County deputies surrounded and pinned Warborg’s vehicle on the passenger side. When Warborg still refused to let go of the steering wheel, officers used a baton to knock out his back window. Police had to use force to remove him from the vehicle.
Warborg was taken to Sanford Hospital for minor injuries. He is now in custody in Nobles County Jail.
