Truck fire in Rushmore

Truck hauling manure caught fire underneath the hood.

RUSHMORE — The Rushmore Fire Department was paged to a vehicle fire at 12:30 p.m. today on Nobles County 13, two miles north of Rushmore.

The manure hauling truck had been driven partially into a ditch, and firefighters extinguished the flames with firefighting foam.

“(It) looked like the fire just started under the hood and the driver pulled off into the ditch,” said Rushmore Fire Chief Brent Petersen. “The driver is OK and no one else was injured.”
