Truck weight limits to increase soon

ST. PAUL -- Allowable winter load limits on Minnesota highways in the southern frost zone -- including Pipestone, Rock, Murray, Nobles, Cottonwood and Jackson counties -- will increase up to 10 percent at 12.01 a.m. Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced.

Vehicles will be allowed to carry up to 10 percent more weight than the standard legal maximum loads on unrestricted highways, but must still comply with current registration weight laws and not exceed registered gross weight limits.
