ADRIAN— Shauna Tweet has always enjoyed fitness, so when the opportunity to buy the T3 Fitness gym in Adrian arose, Tweet took it.

“I’ve always enjoyed fitness,” Tweet said. “I have a nursing background, I’ve run a couple marathons and half-marathons, so when I saw that the gym was for sale, I thought I’d check into it.”

And check into it she did. She recently purchased the gym, and her first day on the job was Sunday. Already, Tweet is formulating plans of her own.

“I’m going to offer more fitness classes, add a couple of personal trainers and also add a massage therapist,” Tweet listed. “Right now I’m just hoping to build off of the success of the past couple of years there.”

Although Tweet intends to add more staff, she has no current plans to alter the interior of the gym.

“Most of the equipment in the gym is in really good condition,” Tweet said. “Thankfully, the current owner John Jonas has put a lot of work into making the gym what it is today, which is really nice and up-to-date.”

Jonas purchased the gym from Kroon Drug, the building’s former occupants, and brought in local contractors to do the remodeling and renovation work. Those efforts were finished in early 2011.

“My main goal is to expand the classes and to offer more,” Tweet summarized.

T3 Fitness is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The gym can be reached by calling (507) 360-9435, or by visiting its website at www.myt3fitness.com. T3 Fitness is located at 212 Maine Ave., Adrian.
