In Ward 2, challenger Scott Nelson will run against incumbent Alderman Bob Petrich.

"Worthington has been good to me and my family, and I want to give back to the community," Nelson said, "I've been involved in a business start-up from the ground up. I'm aware of those issues new businesses face, and I could be an asset to city council."

Jason Barrie will challenge incumbent Mike Woll for the Alderman-at-Large position.

"I decided to run for city council because I'd like the opportunity to represent the city, mainly as a voice for younger people. I've thought about it for a number of years, and this year I decided to go for it," Barrie said, "I'm a good listener and have new fresh ideas."

Incumbent Lyle Ten Haken will run unopposed for Ward 1 Alderman. The candidates will be listed on the general election ballot Nov. 4.
