Unemployment insurance seminar is Sept. 11
WORTHINGTON -- An employer seminar, "Unemployment Insurance 101: "What Minnesota
Employers Need to Know..." will be from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 11 at the
Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Worthington campus.
Unemployment program experts will provide answers to unemployment questions. Participants will learn the best practices on how to manage unemployment issues in their
workplace and gain the knowledge needed to deal with unemployment issues quickly and
decisively. The presenters will explain how Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax rates are
determined, how an applicant's benefits eligibility can affect a business and what can be done to
prevent unnecessary charges to UI accounts.
This session is designed for Human resource professionals, business owners and managers, attorneys, accountants, consultants and others who are interested in learning about their rights and responsibilities under the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Law. It will also be helpful for HR employees and business owners who want more information about UI regulations.
The seminar is sponsored by Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED)-Business Services, Minnesota West, Southwest Human Resource Association, SW MN Small Business Development Center and the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce.
