Update: Nobles Co-op Electric outages down to 587
WORTHINGTON -- As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nobles Cooperative Electric reported just 587 households without power. At the height of the outages following last week's ice storm, more than 3,500 members were without power.
More than 100 linemen are working to restore power. "Crews continue to make great strides in reconstructing the distribution lines that were destroyed by this catastrophic storm. Workers say this is one of the worst storms they have seen," said Nobles Cooperative Electric General Manager Richard Burud.
The public is cautioned to avoid any downed power lines and to report them immediately to Nobles Cooperative Electric or local authorities.
NCE's goal is still to have all members restored by Friday, weather permitting. Crews will continue working until all power has been restored.
Federated Rural Electric at Jackson fully restored power to its members by 7 p.m. Monday.
