Once the center of the community, the old Morris Area Elementary School has been riddled by vandalism and become an intriguing albeit dangerous destination for "urban explorers," who are interested in examining the normally unseen and off-limits parts of human society. Police warn that the explorers face potential arrest and charges for entering the school.

MORRIS - Law enforcement officers from four different agencies surrounded the building, with their lights glaring, they used their squad cars to block the exits.

The cold of a November night was accompanied by dramatic suspense, with both hanging in the air as Morris Police Sgt. Ross Tiegs approached the building.
