Van Kley's 12-footer in final seconds enough for Edgerton

EDGERTON -- Hailey Van Kley swished a 12-footer with about 13 seconds left Tuesday night, giving the visiting Edgerton Flying Dutchmen a 59-58 lead before Southwest Christian had a last-second shot rim out to cap a thrilling Red Rock Conference girls' basketball game between the cross-town rivals.

Amy Kallemeyn led Edgerton with 26 points, while Alexa Vanden Bosch was next with 20 points.

Kara Van Dyke topped SWC with 18 points and six rebounds, while Jada Vander Veen scored 17 points, and Brianna Spronk charted 12 points and four steals.

Emily Prins and Courtney De Kam each posted seven rebounds and five assists for the Eagles.

Edgerton (11-3, 15-4) visits W-WG Friday, while SWC (3-11, 3-15) is at H-BC the same night.

SLAYTON -- Holding Murray County Central to nine points in the first half, the Fulda Raiders picked up a road victory over the Rebels.

Kaitlyn Kramer led Fulda (13-1, 19-3) with 14 points, while Sarah Raddle was next with 11 points.

Caitlyn Peterson had nine points, three steals and three assists for MCC (8-6, 9-11).

Janeane Robinson (six rebounds, five steals) and Emily Bose (10 rebounds, five blocks) each scored seven points for the Rebels, who host RRC Friday.

Fulda hosts Adrian Friday.

ROUND LAKE -- Making 23-of-27 free throws in the second half, Ellsworth earned a victory over Round Lake-Brewster.

Ellsworth was 35-for-44 from the free-throw line for the game, and was led by Brooke Kix with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Brooke Kramer and Amanda Connors scored 17 and 13 respective points, while Laura Timmer had six boards.

Kelli Correll nearly had a quadruple-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and eight steals to lead RL-B.

Sarah Schmitz posted 17 points and seven rebounds, while Elly Schmitz scored eight points for the Raiders.

Ellsworth (7-7, 11-8) hosts SSC Friday, while RL-B (3-11, 5-14) is at ML/B-O the same night.

ADRIAN -- Leading from start to finish, the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots gained a victory over the Adrian Dragons.

Chelsi Fink's triple-double (29 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) fueled H-BC. Brittany Helgeson and Kerri Fransman scored 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Erica Thier and Sam Lynn led Adrian with 16 and 13 respective points.

H-BC (4-10, 5-15) hosts Southwest Christian Friday, while Adrian (10-4, 14-5) visits Fulda the same night.

JEFFERS -- Danielle Trapp's 20 points and 14 rebounds helped the Red Rock Central Falcons post a victory over Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin.

Krystle Sell (14), Ashley Neperman (12) and Kelly Shaner (10) also scored in double figures, while Thea Engen grabbed 11 rebounds, and Shannon Altermatt had four assists for RRC.

Lacey Janzen paced ML/B-O with 20 points, while Emily Harrington had nine points.

RRC (8-6, 11-9) is at MCC Friday, while ML/B-O (3-11, 6-14) hosts RL-B the same night.

OKABENA -- Outscoring Westbrook-Walnut Grove 44-15 in the second half, Southwest Star Concept remained unbeaten in conference play.

Linnea Henkels had 24 points and 11 boards to lead SSC, while Brooke DeWall (six rebounds, four assists) and Chelsey Knutson (five rebounds, three assists) each scored 13 points.

Adri Rasche scored eight points, and Breanna Rients had six assists for the Quasars (14-0, 18-3), who won their ninth straight game.

Audra Schmidt led W-WG (0-14, 2-18) with 11 rebounds and eight points. Kassandra Jarmer and Stephanie Comnick each scored seven points for the Chargers, who host Edgerton Friday.
