According to records, Curtis Watson, 34, and Deanna Pugh, 23, are currently in custody in another jurisdiction and are wanted for shoplifting in other areas. They were among four people arrested in Spencer, Iowa in October in a similar case.

Authorities received reports of similar incidents occurring at a Walmart in New Ulm.

A Minnesota State Trooper stopped a vehicle the day of the theft, with four people in it on U.S. Highway 59, north of Worthington. None of them had a valid driver’s license, so the officers gave them a ride to the Worthington Walmart. It is believed these may have been the same individuals.

During the course of the investigation, police learned a similar theft had taken place in Spirit Lake, Iowa with suspects in custody. Watson was questioned and denied having been in Worthington, but later admitted he had been cited for not having a driver’s license and got a ride to Walmart.
