Water level rises; watering ban still on
WORTHINGTON — Despite a 2-foot increase in the static water level at Worthington’s Well 26 over the course of the past week, Worthington Public Utilities General Manager Scott Hain said Friday the city’s ban on non-essential watering will remain in place, at least for the next week.
Hain said the 2-foot increase in the water level wasn’t bad, “but honestly, after a 10-foot, 6-inch increase last week, it was a bit disappointing. We were expecting more.”
Friday morning’s reading of the water level in the well came in just slightly over the 16-year-average.
“We’ll let it ride for another week and reevaluate,” Hain said.
