SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The National Weather Service predicts freezing rain, sleet and snow for the rest of the week in the southwest Minnesota region.

Wednesday

Cloudy, with a chance of freezing rain or sleet in the morning, then freezing rain or sleet in the afternoon. Little or no sleet accumulation is expected, with an ice accumulation of less than one-tenth of an inch. High in the mid-20s, with east winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Evening skies will remain cloudy, with freezing rain or snow in the evening, and a chance of snow or sleet after midnight. Low around 20, with east winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation will be 80 percent.

Thursday

Cloudy, with a chance of snow or sleet in the morning, and a slight chance of snow or sleet in the afternoon. High will be in the mid-20s, with east winds of 5 to 15 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation will be 40 percent.

In the evening, skies will remain cloudy, with lows in the lower 20s.

Friday

Cloudy, with a 20 percent chance of freezing rain or sleet in the afternoon. The high will be around 30. Friday evening will be cloudy with a 50 percent chance of freezing rain. Low temperatures will be in the upper 20s.

Saturday

Windy, with freezing rain likely. High temperatures will be in the lower 30s, and the chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Evening skies will be cloudy, with a 40 percent chance of snow and freezing rain. Low temperatures will be in the mid-20s.

Sunday

Cloudy, with a 40 percent chance of snow and high temperatures in the upper 20s. In the evening, skies will be cloudy with a 30 percent chance of light snow and low temperatures around 20 degrees.
