Winter Crops and Soils Day is Tuesday
LUVERNE -- The Southwest Research and Outreach Center (SWROC) of Lamberton will host a Winter Crops and Soils Day Feb. 5 at Blue Mound Banquet & Meeting Center, Luverne.
Winter Crops and Soils Day is a public event highlighting current University of Minnesota research specific to southwest Minnesota. Leading experts from the University will be on hand to present information and answer questions.
The program will address a variety of current ag production challenges facing producers. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Speakers from the University of Minnesota's St. Paul Campus and Research and Outreach Centers will cover topics including the farm bill, drainage and water quality, pest management, drought and weed management.
The event is open to the public. There is a registration fee to cover handouts and lunch. Pre-registration is required. Continuing education units for certified crop advisers will be provided in the areas of Soil and Water (0.5 CEUs), Pest Management (1.5 CEUs) and Crop Management (1.0 CEUs).
