Worthington Area Foundation requesting grant applications
WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Area Foundation is now accepting applications for grants to be awarded in November 2013.
The Worthington Area Foundation is a tax-exempt, non-profit philanthropic organization funded by large and small donations from generous contributors. Foundation grants are made to non-profit, non-religious and non-political groups. An eligible organization should promote local culture, environmental causes, educational, recreational or civic activities essential to building and strengthening the community, and must have a 501c3 tax status to be eligible.
Approximately $10,000 will be available for distribution to qualifying area organizations. In appreciation of its many donors, the foundation will be sponsoring a Chamber mixer at BenLee’s Cafe on Nov. 19. Presentations will be made to this year’s grant winners at that time.
For more information on the Worthington Area Foundation, plan to attend mixer event as board members will be present to answer questions. Grant applications may be picked up at the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, 1121 Third Ave., or on the Worthington Area Foundation’s website at wgtnarea.foundation.org.
Completed applications are to be returned to Becky Schilling - Secretary, 1904 Willow Ave., Worthington 56187 by Oct. 7.
