Worthington bank robbers indicted
WORTHINGTON -- Two Worthington men accused of robbing the First State Bank of Rushmore were federally indicted Friday morning through the United States Attorney's Office, District of Minnesota.
The indictment charges Felix Mendez, 22, and Jose Manuel Osoria-Mendez, 19, with one count of bank robbery. The men allegedly robbed the bank of $5,522 at approximately 10:40 a.m. July 2. Mendez allegedly entered the bank and demanded money while pointing a gun at the tellers, and Osoria-Mendez drove the getaway car. The men were apprehended not long after returning to Worthington and money and guns were recovered from Mendez's home on Fox Farm Road.
Both are also being charged federally in Iowa for allegedly robbing a gun store. At least one gun found after the bank robbery was stolen from the Crawford County, Iowa, store.
