Worthington Nationals to take place this weekend

WORTHINGTON -- There will be plenty of racing action Saturday and Sunday at Nobles County Speedway when the Worthington Nationals competition takes place.

A total of $22,000 in prize money is slated to be awarded during the two-day event. Sponsored by Jaycox Implement and Pepsi, the Worthington Nationals will feature racing in the A Mods, stock cars, B Mods, hobby, outlaw mini-sprints and sportsman classes.

The speedway will be utilizing IMCA A-modified rules for the Worthington Nationals. The A-features from Saturday night will determine the top eight positions in the feature for Sunday evening's A-mains. All other drivers will requalify for the feature Sunday night.

The Worthington Nationals will be full USRA points on both nights. Hot laps will begin at 5:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, with racing starting at 6 p.m.

Racing this past Sunday night was sponsored by Hickory Lodge Bar and Grill and The Grain Exchange and featured special United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) and United States Racing Association (USRA) action. Here are the results from Aug. 21 racing:

It should also be noted that Kenny Johnson was the winner of the Sportsman Class feature during Aug. 14 action at NCSI. The information was incorrect in the Aug. 18 Daily Globe.
