Worthington well watch update
WORTHINGTON -- Despite a week of on again-off again showers, Worthington Public Utilities Manager Scott Hain reported Friday morning that the water level at Well 26 is still not high enough to lift the ongoing ban on non-essential watering.
In measurements taken Friday, the static level of Well 26 was 25 feet, 5 inches from ground level. In order to lift the ban, the water level needed to be at 22 feet, 1 inch from ground level -- 90 percent of the 10-year average.
"As of today, the water level was 3 feet, 4 inches below the point where we'd lift the ban on nonessential use," Hain said.
Since last week, the water level at Well 26 rose 2 feet, 3 inches.
