Ziegler CAT opens in Sheldon, Iowa
SHELDON, Iowa — In March 2012, Ziegler CAT announced it would open a facility in the northwest Iowa town of Sheldon.
On Aug. 15, the facility had its grand opening with more than 650 people attending to see the new building.
“We’re excited to expand our presence in Iowa,” said William L Hoeft, Ziegler president & CEO. “With the construction of this new facility, we can provide a higher level of service to our customers in northwest Iowa.”
The facility is located at 102 Crossroad Drive in the Crossroads Industrial Park.
“Sheldon was an ideal choice for us,” Hoeft said. “We have facilities in Sioux City and Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Jackson, Minnesota. Our new Sheldon facility filled a geographic void for us … putting us closer to our ag and construction customers in northwestern Iowa.”
The Ziegler Sheldon facility currently employs 17 personnel: manager, four sales people, five shop technicians, two field service technicians, three parts personnel, and two shop supervisor/clerk personnel. This number could increase as the facility becomes more established in the area.
The building itself is roughly 26,000 square feet. Within the building is a 9,000-square foot parts warehouse, offices, and a full-service shop with a large wash bay, six service bays, and a 10-ton hoist. Field service is dispatched from the facility.
The Sheldon location will sell and service the full line of CAT compact and heavy construction equipment, the new vocational truck, and generators. A complete line of new and used agricultural equipment will also be offered, including Challenger® tractors; LEXION combines; RoGator, TerraGator, and SpraCoupe application equipment; White Planters; and Sunflower tillage equipment. An overnight shuttle system will connect the Sheldon facility with Ziegler’s 24 other locations in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin, providing customers with an array of products, parts and services.
“The Ziegler shuttle allows us to get parts and components to and from any Ziegler store overnight,” said Steve Hitchcock, director of marketing. “The shuttle also stops nightly at more than 90 parts drops in our four-state coverage area, allowing us to fulfill 98.8 percent of our parts orders within 24 hours.”
According to Hitchcock, the Sheldon facility will offer experienced personnel and quality service.
“The Ziegler difference is our people,” he said. “Our employees truly care about our customers and go the extra mile. They take pride in their work, are skilled in their trades, and provide service that sets the standard in our industry. The Sheldon team, like all personnel at our other locations, takes pride in their work and their community.”
The facility is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached at (712) 324-5604 or 1-855-344-5604.
