ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a three-vehicle crash reported at 4:45 p.m. Friday at the intersection of South Union Street and South 12th Avenue. Cheryl Van Beek, 47, of Rock Rapids, was operating her 1997 Buick LeSabre and stopped on South Union Street facing south before turning east onto South 12th Avenue. Eric Kupferschmid, 41, of Rock Rapids, was operating his 1997 Ford F-150 and stopped on South Union Street facing south behind Van Beek's vehicle. Joanne Kringen, 82, of Rock Rapids, was operating her 2004 Mercury Monterey southbound on South Union Street. Kringen began to pass both stopped vehicles while a non-contact vehicle was traveling north on South Union Street. Kringen saw that vehicle, swerved to the right and struck both Kupferschmid's and Van Beek's vehicles. Kringen's Mercury received approximately $3,000 in damages, Kupferschmid's Ford sustained about $90 in damages and Van Beek's Buick had approximately $2,000 in damages. Kringen was cited for unsafe passing. The Lyon County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Rock Rapids Fire Department and the Lyon County Ambulance.
WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 9:38 p.m. Friday to the 1500 block of East Avenue for a female who had been exposed to cold for an extended period.

WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Police Department investigated a loud music complaint made at 10:36 p.m. Saturday from the 800 block of Grand Avenue. A warning was issued.
DUNDEE -- The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of trespassing and harassment at 11:03 p.m. Saturday from the 200 block of North Carpenter.
WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Police Department investigated a domestic incident reported at 1:02 a.m. Sunday.
WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Police Department cited an individual for no insurance, no Minnesota driver’s license and center line violation at 1:24 a.m. Sunday.
