WORTHINGTON — Nobles County Soil and Water Conservation District supervisors Lynn Darling and Jim Knips, along with SWCD technician Ed Lenz, attended workshops in Washington, D.C., earlier this month as part of a statewide leadership development program. The workshops were sponsored by the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

While in Washington, the group met with Minnesota senators and representatives and their staff, as well as staff with the U.S.D.A., Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Environmental Protection Agency.

The trip was one of seven meetings that are part of the Leadership Institute. The other six meetings all occur in Minnesota.
