Arrows sweep Trojans
PIPESTONE — Despite chilly temperatures and a stiff breeze, the Pipestone Area Arrows won both the boys and girls golf competitions against the visiting Worthington teams Monday afternoon at the Pipestone Country Club.
PIPESTONE — Despite chilly temperatures and a stiff breeze, the Pipestone Area Arrows won both the boys and girls golf competitions against the visiting Worthington teams Monday afternoon at the Pipestone Country Club.
The Arrow boys, led by Aaron Koslowski’s medalist round of 43, defeated the Trojans by a score of 191-209. Tate Van Roekel followed Koslowski with a round of 47, while John Langholz and Josh Haubrich completed the team score with rounds of 50 and 51, respectively.
Ryan Radloff shot a 47 to pace the Trojans. Joe Christiansen and Matt Wesselink posted rounds of 53 each, and Scott Simpson finished with a round of 56.
The Pipestone girls were led by medalist Katherine Newhouse, who shot a 48 on the day. Kayla Nelson posted a round of 52, while Lynn Nelson shot a 56. Megan Sommers completed the team score of 213 with a round 57.
The Worthington girls (226) were paced by Leigh Van Hove and Megan Westendorf, who each shot a 51 on the day. Megan Meier followed with a round of 60, while Lizzy Wetering rounded out the team score with a 64.
The Arrows visit Luverne on Thursday, while the Trojans host Windom on Friday.
Adrian triangular
ADRIAN — Windom had four players shoot under 50, as the Eagles defeated Red Rock Central and Adrian in a triangular.
Windom had a score of 189, while RRC finished with a season-best 204, and Adrian totaled 214, also a season-best.
Michelle Legler led the Eagles with a round of 45, while Lexey Will (47), April Buhler (48) and Ashley Jackson (49) also contributed to the winning score.
RRC’s Sarah DeCock was the medalist with a round of 44. Caitlyn DeCock and Alison Kircher each fired a 53, and Alyse Quade carded a 54.
Kelsey Altman topped Adrian with a 49, while Brianna McCarthy (54), Laura Lorang (55) and Carmen Wieneke (56) rounded out the scoring for the Dragons.
Adrian (2-4) visits Murray County Central today.
SSC 226, W-WG 236
WESTBROOK — Nicole Mueller shot a medalist round of 52 to spark the Southwest Star Concept Quasars past Westbrook-Walnut Grove.
Elizabeth Paul followed with a 54 for SSC, while Ally Lenz fired a 55, and Aeriel Nitch carded a 65 — giving SSC its first victory of the season.
Morganne Knakmuhs led W-WG with a 54, while Whitney Frank (55), Amber West (56) and Paige Erickson (71) rounded out the Chargers’ scoring.
Boys SSC 176, W-WG 184
WESTBROOK — Southwest Star Concept’s Brady Hall and Andrew Rossow each shot a 42 to share medalist honors and lead the Quasars to a victory over Westbrook-Walnut Grove.
Cory Pelzel was right behind with a 43, while Jeremy Luebben carded a 49 for SSC.
Taylor Lindamann led W-WG with a 44, Brandon Jenniges shot a 45, Aaron Theisen fired a 47, and Nick Lehnhoff finished with a 48.
