Learn how to identify damage from Emerald Ash Borer and how to diversify tree plantings to reduce the risk against the EAB.

The major topic of concern is the EAB, an insect that was accidentally brought into this country in non-kiln dried wood used for crating. The EAB has killed millions of ash trees in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, and is difficult to control. It has not been found in Iowa but has migrated to about 85 miles east of the Mississippi River; therefore most tree experts feel it is only a matter of time before it invades Iowa.

Pre-registration is required by calling the Cherokee County Extension office by Friday at (712) 225-6196.
