Letter: Schulte, Bootsma deserve Osceola County nods
Osceola County voters face serious choices in the supervisor primaries on June 3.By: Daniel DeKoter, Sibley, Worthington Daily Globe
Osceola County voters face serious choices in the supervisor primaries on June 3.
The Osceola County Taxpayers Association (OCTA) candidate is Kevin Wolfswinkel. As president of that group, he hired Paul Dorr to run a nasty OCTA campaign against the county attorney. Wolfswinkel has also been a consistent adversary of law enforcement for the OCTA. His election to office would divide the county and cause controversy and expense down the road.
Daryl Strenge is also running for re-election. Daryl is a nice man, but he has shown an unfortunate willingness to bow to the Wolfswinkel/Dorr faction and make choices that are not in the best interest of the county as a whole. It is time for Daryl to retire.
Mike Schulte is running against Wolfswinkel for the Sibley seat, and Phil Bootsma is running against Strenge for the Melvin-area seat. These are both thoughtful, conscientious men who will listen to everyone, not just a few radicals. It’s time for a change. Please vote for change on June 3.
