Generals fall to Sioux Center, 12-2

Nine walks and five errors were the downfall Thursday night for the Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals.

SIBLEY, Iowa — Nine walks and five errors were the downfall Thursday night for the Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals, as S-O dropped a 12-2, six-inning decision to visiting Sioux Center.

Craig Jacobsma had the Generals’ lone hit, an RBI double in the fourth inning, and Marshall Doeden delivered a sacrifice fly for S-O’s other run.

Craig Hertz took the loss on the mound, tossing the first 3 2/3 innings. Five of the nine runs he surrendered were unearned.

Isaac Roede pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for the Generals, who are now 2-4 in Siouxland Conference action and 2-7 overall. S-O will play tonight against Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn in Hartley.
