Worthington VFW wins first game of tournament
SIOUX FALLS, S.D — After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning, the Worthington VFW baseball team rallied for a 5-3 victory over Brandon Valley in the first game of the Sioux Falls Wooden Bat Tournament.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D — After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning, the Worthington VFW baseball team rallied for a 5-3 victory over Brandon Valley in the first game of the Sioux Falls Wooden Bat Tournament.
Derek Lee earned the victory for Worthington, allowing three earned runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out three.
Steven Kremer had three hits, including an RBI triple to lead the Worthington attack.
Kirk McBreen had two hits and also had an RBI triple, while Octavio Jiminez had two singles for Worthington.
Mitchell Jensen, Cody Melendrez, Adam Munkel and Tyler Stugelmeyer all had a single for Worthington.
