WORTHINGTON — Nobles Cooperative Electric’s 2008 annual meeting celebration for members took place Thursday at Pioneer Village in Worthington.

More than 400 members and their families had the opportunity to take a step back into time at the beginning of the 20th century and explore life as it was with free admission to Pioneer Village. The family event was packed with activities from Victorian carriage rides, an antique tractor parade, Wild West re-enactment, authentically dressed tour guides, music by Remix and Teresa Widboom and old fashioned children’s games.

More than 1,200 guests were served pork sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, apple crisp with whipped cream and a special treat sponsored by the Nobles County Dairy Association.

Two directors of Nobles Cooperative Electric were elected to the board of directors. Incumbent directors Dick Ruiter and Richard Greve were re-elected to a three-year term. At the organizational meeting following the annual meeting, Henry Hanson was re-elected president, Greve was re-elected vice president and Ronald Schwartau was re-elected secretary/treasurer.
