HERON LAKE — With a run in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Heron Lake Lakers defeated Windom 4-3 Sunday in an amateur baseball contest.
Keith Rogers picked up the victory for the Lakers in relief, allowing one hit while walking one and striking out two in two and a third innings.
Jared Meinders started the game for HL, and allowed three unearned runs on four hits while walking two and striking out three.
Bryce Grove suffered the loss for Windom, allowing one run on one hit in two and two thirds innings.
Lucas Knutson had two hits and scored a run to lead HL, while Tyler Leopold had a home run. Ike Rogers had a hit and scored a run.
For Windom, Matt Anderson had two hits and drove in a run, while Cody Lewis drew a bases loaded walk to tie the game in the sixth inning.

In the second game of the day for the Lakers, Fairmont scored four runs in the sixth inning to secure the two-run victory.
Matt Franks suffered the loss for HL (4-11, 4-13), allowing 10 hits and four earned runs while striking out two in six innings.
Knutson once again led the way with a pair of hits and scored a run. Trevor Leopold had two hits and scored a run, while Keith Rogers had an RBI. Todd Waller had a hit and drove in a run for the Lakers.
The Lakers will have a week off before traveling to Fox Lake and Jackson Sunday.

HADLEY — The Buttermakers scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back in a nine-run victory in amateur baseball action Sunday.
Mitch Johnson earned the victory for Hadley (6-4, 9-6). He allowed one earned run, while striking out four in six innings.
Chris Haken earned the save for the Buttermakers, allowing one hit, while striking out five in three innings.
James Wajer had two hits and drove in two runs for Hadley, while Matt Ackerman had a double and two RBIs. Ryan Beers added a hit and a pair of RBIs on the day.
Hadley will travel to Pipestone tonight.

Wilmont 6, Mountain Lake 3
MOUNTAIN LAKE — With five runs in the top of the sixth, the Wilmont Cardinals continued their dominance with a three-run victory over Mountain Lake in an amateur tilt Sunday.
Aaron Johnson allowed three runs on seven hits, while walking two and striking out five in a complete-game victory for the Cardinals (11-0, 13-1).
Jeremy Irlbeck was on base every time he stepped to the plate Sunday. He had a pair of hits, and also walked and was hit by a pitch.
Ryan Swanson had the big hit of the day for Wilmont in the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, Swanson delivered a bases-clearing double to propel Wilmont to the 6-3 victory.
The Cardinals will host Adrian Wednesday.
