Brief: Swedish fiddlers to stop in Windom

WINDOM — The Nordanstig Spelmanslag, a musical group of fiddlers from Sweden, will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Business, Arts & Recreation Center, 1012 Fifth Ave., Windom.
This Swedish group of 12 members is touring the Upper Midwest. The group, formed in 1952, plays Swedish folk music with mostly fiddles. Many of the members also play other instruments such as harmonica, accordion, melodeon, guitar, etc. Their rich music is from the northern part of Halsingland in central Sweden, which is a rural area of about 10,000 people.
The program is being sponsored by the Sons of Norway (SON) Stavanger Lodge 538 and the BARC Education Connection. The Nordanstigs are staying in homes of the Stavanger Lodge members.
