Brief: United Way plans community event

WORTHINGTON — Worthington Area United Way will sponsor a community celebration at 6:30 p.m. today at Chautauqua Park. Free hot dogs, chips and beverages will be served prior to the “Amazing” City Band concert to thank individuals and businesses who made donations and volunteers who helped with the 2007-2008 fundraising campaign.

An awards presentation will take place during the band concert’s intermission.

Each year, Worthington Area United Way allocates funds to nonprofit organizations that meet criteria. Twenty-one organizations currently benefit from the United Way fundraising drive.
