Brief: Food safety training is Sept. 4

University of Minnesota Extension will offer a two-hour course for food service workers that covers the basic requirements for safe food handling.

WORTHINGTON — University of Minnesota Extension will offer a two-hour course for food service workers that covers the basic requirements for safe food handling.

The course is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Nobles County Government Center, Worthington.

The class is designed for employees who are not certified food managers.

Topics covered include: Preventing foodborne illness, food temperature control, personal hygiene, preventing cross-contamination, preparing and serving food safely and cleaning and sanitizing.
