Brief: HLWD hosts bus tour Thursday
The Heron Lake Watershed District, Prairie Ecology Bus Center and Jackson County Water Plan are sponsoring a “Steps in Time” tour from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
HERON LAKE — The Heron Lake Watershed District, Prairie Ecology Bus Center and Jackson County Water Plan are sponsoring a “Steps in Time” tour from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
The tour offers the opportunity for participants to see the landscape through the eyes of the first settlers, learn about the origins of our communities and experience the tallgrass prairie in which horses and riders could nearly disappear.
Some walking on uneven ground and through grassy areas will be involved on the tour. Appropriate dress is requested.
Supper will be served, and there is a fee to take part. The bus will leave from the Community Center parking lot, Third Avenue and 10th Street, Heron Lake. For more information or to register, contact HLWD at 507-793-2462 or hlwd@roundlk.net.
