ALTON, Iowa — After an opening-season loss, the Harris-Lake Park Wolves rebounded with a 49-36 victory against Spalding Catholic Friday night in a non-district football game.
Mychal Sheridan had 22 carries and rushed for 148 yards, but had a 70-yard kick-off return for a touchdown and caught four passes for 28 yards, including an 18-yard score.
Kyle Jacobsen completed nine passes for 139 yards, including a pair of touchdowns.
Kyle Kruger had 111 yards receiving, caught a 10-yard and a 60-yard touchdown pass, and also ran in a 2-yard score.
Matt Mayou had a 4-yard run to paydirt, and had 13 tackles, two sacks, an interception and recovered a fumble defensively.
Jacobsen, who also had a 4-yard TD run, had 10 tackles and a sack defensively. Jake Ihnen had four sacks, while Kruger added nine tackles and a sack for the Wolves (1-1).
H-LP will open district play Friday at Twin River Valley.

SIBLEY, Iowa — With 263 yards rushing, Estherville-Lincoln Central came away with a victory against Sibley-Ocheyedan Friday night.
After falling behind 7-0, S-O’s Greg Hiemstra scored on a 1-yard touchdown burst to knot the score at 7-all.
The score was tied heading into the fourth quarter, but E-LC scored 13 unanswered to claim the victory.
Hiemstra was 9-for-17 passing for 61 yards in the air.
Marshall Doeden had two receptions for 30 yards to lead the Generals (0-2).
The Generals will travel to Western Christian Friday.

LEMARS, Iowa — The Central Lyon/George-Little Rock Lions opened up a 21-6 lead at halftime and cruised to a non-district victory Friday.
Jordan Gacke had 133 yards rushing, including a 43-yard and a 9-yard run for touchdowns.
Scott Eben had 44 yards on the ground, including a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Gacke, who threw for 36 yards, also had 11 total tackles and a sack and a half defensively. Ethan Hopp added 10 total tackles, a sack and recovered a fumble for the Lions (2-0), who will host Unity Christian Friday.

SHELDON, Iowa — Taking advantage of five turnovers — three interceptions and two fumble recoveries — the Sheldon Orabs (1-1) blanked Storm Lake.
Sheldon had 252 total yards of offense, while the Tornadoes (1-1) racked up 277. Storm Lake gained 137 on the ground (26 attempts) and passed for 140, completing 18-for-33.
Sheldon scored in the first quarter on a 22-yard touchdown pass from Nic Meendering (11-for-17, 151 yards) to Andy Goeb (three catches, 44 yards).
The Orabs reached the end zone again in the third quarter when Dykstra raced 60 yards with a pass interception.
Evan Ascherl rushed 14 times for 47 yards for Sheldon, which gained 101 yards on the ground in 38 attempts.
Garrett Crowl rushed for 34 yards and also caught four passes for 76 yards.
Tony Rodger and Taylor Zeutenhorst each intercepted a pass to help the Orabs, while Ryan Warnke recovered a pair of fumbles.
Warnke, Zeutenhorst, Dykstra and Goeb each finished with five solo tackles and two assists to lead Sheldon’s defense.
