Letter: No wonder Congress is unpopular

The last time I looked, my Bible doesn’t say anything about Jesus being a community organizer.

Democrat Steven Cohen of Tennessee made this outrageous comment on the floor of the House, “If you want change, you want the Democratic Party,” Cohen said. “Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus, who our minister prayed about. Pontius Pilate was a governor.”

The last time I looked, my Bible doesn’t say anything about Jesus being a community organizer. In fact, Jesus said, “I have come to do the will of my Father.” God the Fathers will was that Jesus would take the penalty for our sins and give us the opportunity of eternity with Him.

Also, I think Sarah Palin, like all the governors in the U.S., works hard in her position to be a servant of the people. Yes, Pontius Pilate was a governor, but our governors are no Pontius Pilates — just like Barack Obama is no Jesus Christ.

It’s no wonder Congress has the low ratings it has! They just don’t work to get things done.
