Letter: Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - for all
It could be a good thing if enough knowledge and information were provided to make the right choice. The Supreme Court avoids the issue as if it were the plague.By: John F. Elskamp, Fulda, Worthington Daily Globe
It is mud slinging time once again. It’s not what are you going to do and how are you going to do it, but what’s wrong with the other guy.
Freedom of choice is a very Democratic thing. It could be a good thing if enough knowledge and information were provided to make the right choice. The Supreme Court avoids the issue as if it were the plague. When does a being gain the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Is it when a name is placed on a birth certificate? If a criminal takes the life of a fetus, they face a very serious charge. If anyone accidentally causes harm to a fetus they have great liability, but the life of the same fetus can be ended with the blade of a scalpel and all is legal.
What jury or judge decides who lives and who dies? Who in their right mind and well-informed wants that responsibility? Would those who believe in God say God made a mistake? Only the godless can do this. In most cases, with the proper help and support, the right choice would be made
Some decisions last a life time and some for eternity. Let us help those who need help.
