The second edition of the history book “Aus Preussen nach Amerika: A History of the Families Burmeister, Hohenstein, Kietzer, Malchow, Rossow, Kolander, Doll and Bretzman” has been published.

NEW HOPE — The second edition of the history book “Aus Preussen nach Amerika: A History of the Families Burmeister, Hohenstein, Kietzer, Malchow, Rossow, Kolander, Doll and Bretzman” has been published, and a limited number of copies are available for purchase.

The book traces these families’ histories from the time that they lived in the Kingdom of Prussia (Germany), their immigration to Wisconsin and migration to Blue Earth and Jackson counties, Minnesota, and continuing through the present day.

Included is a history of the German ethnic community of Heron Lake and Delafield Townships in Jackson County with the history of St. Peters Lutheran Church, the East Heron Lake Creamery Company and the Delafield Farmers’ Fire Insurance Company.

The hardcover book, consisting of 650 pages, includes maps, charts, over 180 photographs and an extensive bibliography.

A copy of the book has been deposited at the Jackson County Historical Society in Lakefield for examination.
