Two males arrested after Lyon County burglaries
Two George males have been arrested by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office after residents reported two separate burglaries.
GEORGE, Iowa — Two George males have been arrested by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office after residents reported two separate burglaries.
A news release from Lyon County states authorities were called at 12:08 p.m. Wednesday after a male subject entered a home in George and fled when confronted by the home owner. At 6:55 that evening, another resident of George reported a burglary that had occurred sometime that day, with approximately $3,000 of items missing.
Two search warrants were executed Thursday, and almost all items from the second burglary were recovered, along with stolen bicycles from another residence.
A 16-year-old male is charged with a class D burglary felony, an aggravated misdemeanor burglary charge, two counts of fourth-degree theft and one count of fourth-degree criminal mischief. A 24-year-old male who lived at the same residence was charged with possession of stolen property.
